Robinsons Facilities Services Welcomes New Apprentice Gas Engineer – Robinsonsfs

At Robinsons Facilities Services HQ, we recently set about finding an apprentice to join our Yorkshire team.
Our search for an apprentice might not have been quite like Alan Sugar’s “The Apprentice” TV show, but we did bear some similarities! For a start, we had an exceptionally high number of applicants for the position, with 120 people looking to join our team. We didn’t set any specific tasks for the interviewees, but we did want to see passion and ability and our chosen apprentice really did demonstrate this.
We would like to introduce you to our new apprentice gas engineer – Daniel Hibbard.
Daniel is 19 years old and has previously worked at a local plumbing and heating company as well as RHS Harlow Carr Gardens. His new role at Robinsons Facilities Services is going to offer him the chance to grow and develop his skills with some of Yorkshire’s most respected HVAC engineers.
Living in Harrogate, Daniel is looking forward to the challenge that his new role will bring and feels humbled that he has fought off stiff competition from all the other applicants. Daniel says he feels “very happy” to be working for such a reputable company.
We sat down with Daniel for a quick chat to see how he felt about joining the RFS team on his first day:
Daniel, what are you most looking forward to about working at Robinsons Facilities Services?
“I am looking forward to learning new things about the industry, getting involved with the day to day tasks and travelling around Yorkshire.”
How would you like to see your career develop in the next 5 years?
“I would like to be qualified and know a lot about the industry.”
What made you want to apply for the apprentice role at Robinsons Facilities Services?
“I applied because I knew Robinsons Facilities where a growing company and I knew they would be a good company to have an apprenticeship with because they’re successful with a lot of experienced engineers.”
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
“I would describe myself as consistent, focused and happy.”
Can you tell us someone you admire and why?
“Tyson Fury because he started from the bottom and made it to the top when everyone was against him.”
